Goodbye Mach-20 Hello BBS
So I went into an antique store after reading about the great shaves people were getting and dug through 50 or so rusty chunks of pakki steel (Tetanus!) I found 2 decent looking razors and brought them home. I hope to get some pics soon. I have been shaving with them for a couple of weeks now and I like the shave so much I ordered 2 more off ebay.
The first one is a Klas Tornblom, from eskiltuna sweden. it has a 9/16 blade etched with a V over a star and a small barbers notch. plain black plastic scales, white end wedge. This is the most hollow ground blade I have ever seen anywhere! Like DE thin. I got it as sharp as i could and it shaves my cheeks fine but on my neck it's just too light and thin. (pd. $20)
Then I found one still covered in dried blood. My current favorite, my C.V.Heljestrand B♔♔♔K No.41 Fabrique in suede. 5/8 blade very light hollow grind. brass pins cream scales with 1/32in white stripes running lengthwise down them. black end wedge. aside from a couple of dark spots where the blade touches the scales when closed (acid in blood), this thing is mint. no hone marks at all, I think I know why he cut himself. (pd. $60)
Anyone ever heard of a BK no41? I can't find anything on the net.
Still awaiting arrival:
