My new TI= great reazor

Approximately 2 weeks ago, I purchased a brand spanking new TI Spartacus.
6/8-7/8 Spanish point 1/2 hollow ground, Festoned back, with horn scales and made with historic steel.
I got it yesterday and here I am reporting my first impressions.
The razor came prehoned, I shaved with it and got a very nice shave.
I am a bit out of synch with thinner grounds, because I use a 1/4 hollow but even when I was too careful the Spartacus came through nicely.

I thought this razor is identical to Glen's TI Eagle. My only thing that it was not the same was the information on the seller website that the spartacus was 6/8. When I looked at the razor it seemed asymmetric a bit, but I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me untill I looked at the label in the picture of the box. The blade is indeed asymmetric 6/8 at the heel , 7/8 at the point. I am not sure but I think some of the old choppers have asymmetry like that.
I find this feature of my razor pretty cool.

the scales are horn. Its just a coincidence that I got the same scales on this one as the scales on the LeGrelot on the last pic.

I went for cheap paring knife, the knife nuts over @ the knife forum consider this one an entry level knife. Ppl there gun @ Tadatsuna and Hattori and the likes :rock:. This knife takes just as good of an edge, and oh yeah it can shave too :D

I don't know about the razors, but the pics are top notch!!!!

TI razors can be very nice shavers as well as good looking peices. I have about 20 of them. It is interesting that TI fancied up the Spartacus. It has always been a decent shaver.

Congratulations, this is a great shaving razor! I have a snakewood model. I think is more than a 1/2 grind as it sings quite ;oudly when shaving. Moreover, when looking at the profile it looks greater than 1/2.

I am going with the info supplied on the website. I have very limited experience with different grinds, but this one looks to have more removed than half of a 1/4 grind.
I however find it more comfortable than the Dovo I had, may be this is also a result of wider blade.

Thanks Obie,
the more I shave the more I am liking this razor. It is different than the 1/4 LeGrelot, but at the same time even though its not as hefty it feels very nicely on the face. It is pretty forgiving in my opinion.

The blade looks identical to mine, however your scales look really good, mine "SUCKED" LOL
They are nice slicers huh :) can't say enough good about the blade...

Is your narrower at the heel (6/8) and wider @ the toe (7/8) ?
That thing even thought its very much hollowed is still stiff enough(I hope this makes sense) for me to like it a lot.

I will double check when I get home but yes I think mine is a slant blade too... looking at the pics side by side they look the same... Other than the scales which yours are by far, nicer :) I noticed how your razor will sit pretty with the blade half open mine won't come close with my scales...

yes this one sits nicely up, the LeGrelot does not.
