Every line I've tried from Simmons was a pleasure to hone, great shaving, and held an edge for quite some time. Whoever they sourced their blades from had nice steel.

If the Keen Kutter is stamped USA, it was made in St Louis by Simmons Hdwe.
Here is a Simmons KeenKutter that is in very good shape except it has been honed a bit too much on the tip. Any suggestions as to how to hone a blade with an over-honed tip?
I got it to shave very well except the tip could use a bit better edge on it.
That is a nice razor.
It could have been intentionally overhoned on the toe to mute the tip.
I wonder if the older gold wash is more durable than the new. That gold wash looks pristine. The gold wash on my KK looks fairly good too.
