Morris (solingen) sculptor edge (3/8) worth sharpening?

Ok I got a 3/8 morris sculptor edge razor off eBay. It cleaned up nice with one exception... it has several teeny tiny pits on the blade up near the toe and spine. There's nothing near the edge, so I'm sure it wont affect shaving, but the pitting is deep enough that there's really no way to completely remove it (though the pits are sub 0.5mm in size, they are a good 1/3 of the spine's width deep (up near the spine). Currently the razor is butterknifed, but I can probably put an edge on it in 30minutes. Do you think it's worth bringing it up to shave-ready status. In other words, do you think there's much use for a 3/8 razor despite the pitting? Or should I steal the scales to replace the damaged scales on another razor?

I think they're pretty neat. I had a mint one that I was cleaning up that became a buffing wheel victim, I was horrified to say the least. The scales are sturdy, 3 pin but on the small side.

Invest the 30 minutes to put a nice edge on it, and see how you like using it. That pitting may or may not get worse, but I'm sure somebody can tell you how to neutralize it. Maybe a baking soda bath, or you could try mechanically removing it by using a metal wire and some Flitz to "drill" out the rust. Good luck.

If the pitting is not right by the edge, then there's no reason not to get her shave ready. Smaller blades, though they are not my preference, do make very nice shavers. If worst comes to worst and you decide you don't like her, you can always pass her on to someone else.

If you are careful to dry out those pits every time, they'll not be any problem.
