Hey,
I don't know if this has been asked before, but is there a significant difference between these two types of Grelots?
Here's the vintageblades kind

Here's the rasurpur kind

I mean differences aside from scales. Both 6/8 3/4 hollow I think, so why the 100 dollar difference?
they should be the same, horn scales do cost quite a bit more just the same when they were available on rasurpur
Gugi's right, new polished horn brings a premium price. The ones on Rasurpur with the plastic scales look identical to the Edwin Jagger Le Grelots that were being sold a while back for just under $100. Same model number, 52. Those Jagger Le Grelots were outstanding shavers, I bought two of them at that $100 price, and felt like I stole something. In my own opinion, they would still be tough to beat at the Rasurpur price. Don't be put off by the plastic scales, they are quite nice.
Here is a photo of the Jagger Le Grelot I have in white plastic scales, from the Wiki. Please excuse the truly awful photo, it doesn't do the razor justice, I was just learning to take photos at the time. But it still gives you another point of reference. One of the best razors at this price point I've ever tried. No kidding, coincidentally I shaved with it this morning:

It looks to be the same that I have in ram's horn. Great shaver. :tu
I have a 1/4 hollow in pink ivory and I like it quite a bit! In my experience TI scales arent worth the extra money. You could have a member rescale it down the road if you wanted.

I have 2 Grelots from Rasurpur with plastic scales. Fantastic razor!These are the best quality plastic scales I have ever seen. Also the service from Martin is excellent. All the Grelots you mention are the same and come from the same blanks reworked by TI.
The truly awful thing about that photo is the EJ etching. That was the only reason I haven't bought that razor a while ago, but I don't mind, I already have 3 Le Grelot's, so my Le Grelot RAD is mildly served. :)

These two blades are different though the difference is (as far as I am aware) cosmetic - one is the 'le soleil' model - see the 'sunburst' on the tang - whilst the other I'm not too of. What I do know is that the 1/4 grinds are now gone for good, more's the pity!
