newest aquisition

i was out on the road today, and swung into an antique shop that a gentleman i know owns. well needless to say, i had a RAD attack,and ended up walking out with another razor, this one has an eagle on the blade, and it reads "the improved eagle razor" the only problem is that on the tang, it looks like it says barklay, half of the inscription is worn off, so its hard to tell, any info would be good. the only major drawback to the razor, is when the person who i actually bought it from made the statement that he can get them pretty sharp, then asked me if i was interested in some old knives he was trying to sell. will have pics soon, i promise. need to give misses some more time to play with her new camera.

trey, the blade is the same, just mine doesnt have the electric company on it, as i stated, it looks like it says barklay, i think, the tail end of the stamp is gone, when i can get it dont, i will have a pic or 2 in the thread, hopefully tommorrow night. overall, the razor is very clean, the scales are perfect, just looks to need a honeing and a good polishing. a side note, do you use maas as your polish, if so where do you get it

I have Maas, but I buffed that one with a Dremel and Ryobi buffing rouge from Home Depot or Lowes. It works well if you go slow and do not heat the blade. Maa's is better for hand use IMO and good with rust. It's a personal preference thing because you have to have the tools or work with what you got. Maa's works very well though and you will hear a lot of people recommend it for initial clean up and polishing. I bought the Maa's at an auto parts store I think. It came in a silvery meta container that you squeeze.
