Robert Hartkopf?
Gents,
Any info you can provide on this fine razor would be helpful.
If found info on "Eric" Hartkopf but nothing on Robert.
As I am a relative NEWB can you tell me where I measure the blade width from? Is it the Spine or the shoulder of the spine, to blade edge?
Many thanks.
Scott

Looks like your find will make a nice shaver. I know nothing of the brand. As luck would have it some companies measure the width of the blade from the top of the spine to the bottom of the cutting edge while others from the bottom of the honing flat, or where the hollow grind begins, to the bottom of the cutting edge. Personally I always go from the top of the spine.

The logo looks a lot like the Griffon logo.

Goins has two entries:
R. HARTKOPF (1855-1957) Robert Hartkopf was in Solingen, Germany. The trademark consisted of a winged lion.
HARTKOPF & CO. SOLINGEN (1872-1952) "Rostfrei" Two Faces looking to the left is stamped on the back of the tang. This firm, Gebruder (Brothers) Hartkopf was in Solingen, Germany.
Nice razor by the way.

Thanks for the feedback.
Will get to work on cleaning it up and putting on the stones.
