Hello:
I am currently restoring a Soligen TENNIS #80. Does anyone know what the "80" refers to? I have seen other TENNIS #80 razors that have different etchings, tang markings and sizes.
Thank-you for your reply.

In this thread <http://straightrazorpalace.com/razors/31250-tennis-70-appears-unused-so.html> members talk about a Tennis #70 as well as #80 so that would appear to be a model number.

Above are two #80s, and I have another that is different than both of these. This makes the meaning of "80" a bit unclear.
Maybe "80" was a line of Tennis that had several different issues.
Looks like a model number to me. I just looked at my Dovo one and it has the 80 on it. And I've had pre Dovo ones with the same.
I don't think the numbers correspond to a particular size. I've had the exact same design of razor and number but in very different sizes 4/8, 5/8 and 6/8. Not limited to one manufacturer either.
OK. Thanks for the replies.
To compare with the other "Tennis" razors, here is mine that I just finished rescaling in maple.
Wow that looks beautiful with the maple scales.
