The characters are Chinese. They read: Made in Germany (obviously a load of crock).

Top character (far right)
De - virtue or excellence. Same De as the "Tao De Jing"

Middle character
Guo - Country Not as in country vs city, but country as in nation. United States of America, China, Germany, that kind of "country."

Together they mean Germany.

Final character I'm having a hard time finding. I may need to send some emails.
Edit: found it. The radical is on the right instead of the left. Threw me for a loop that one.

Final character is
Zhi, it means manufacture, or make.

Made in Germany is the translation, which it obviously isn't.
