Ok so I want to know, is the le grelot from thiers issard all it's cracked up to be?
I mean everyone says how perfect it is, but does anyone have any complaints about it?
I have one thiers issard in my arsenal already but have been eyeing one of these babys for a while.
So let's hear it, good or bad what do you have to say?

I have two Le Grelot razors, with quality plastic scales, and love both. Le Grelot is a plain round-point razor without fancy etching. Some models come in fancy scales. It's a big blade and a good shaver. Is it what it's cranked up to be? To me it is.

There is more than one Grelot. I really liked the quarter hollow with thumb notch, and only let it go as part of a trade for a Wacker. There were numerous reports about severe QA issues with TI razors, but if you buy honed from a trusted source, you should be safe.
Other than that: nice, plain razor. I'd go for a Revisor for that sort of money, but that is a personal preference
The 3/4 ground that is currently available at the retail shops is a good shaver. It does take a good finish and holds it well. There are a few other options out there at the same price. I do not find the razor to be so good as to be a "must have". This is because I am not a huge fan of round points and I prefer either larger blades or 1/4 hollow.
Now the 1/4 grind on the other hand. If you can find it, buy it. I finally got one a few weeks back. Awesome razor even if it is a round point.
They are both great shavers, I am more partial to the 1/4 hollow also, which is odd because I am a Extreme hollow grind owner..
I do not own either, but I sure have honed and shaved a ton of them...
The 1/4 hollow can be a touch finicky on the hones if you haven't done them before... Watch the LE's from B&B those were honed up a bit oddly when they came out so those bevels need to be re-done if they haven't been already, at least IME anyway...
The round point has kept me away so far. At least these days, they look fat metal popsicle sticks to me. I am considering, however, getting one and then having an expert grind the tip to a different shape.Quote:

Not all Grolets were round points. Got these two NOS vintage pieces from Martin at Raserpur a few years ago. :)
I actually really like the plain blades.
I don't like anything fancy. Plain blades with a spike or round nose are my favorite.
Some of you don't like the le grelot so what would you recomend for the same amount of cash as the blonde horn scaled grelot.
I have a Le Grelot. I use it already for a long time. I'm happy. It's nice, plain razor.
