Default New Razor from the bay

Just got delivery of this Razor the seller thought Civil War era, looking up close no markings at all, any body have a guess? The scales are Horn and its pinned with steel? Frankly I'm obsessed with collecting interesting shaped razors. Have two French Framebacks on the way and got a IXL Rattler today as well....

Cool looking razor, but I'm not sure I would call it Civil War era. It actually looks like it has a 1/4 or 1/2 hollow grind, and the pre-1880s razors I have seen are all wedges. Too bad that there are no markings on the tang, as that would help determine a date. Any chance that a marking will be visible if the blade is cleaned up?

I can't really tell from the photo, but it doesn't look like it's very old to me. IT has a modern tail, a modern looking tang/shoulder, and it looks pretty hollow. My best guess is it's a fairly run of the mill, late 1800's or early 1900's razor that had the heal removed in some way.

+1 I'd estimate around 1900, give or take a decade or so. Still a very cool razor and assuming it wasn't too expensive, a nice score.

BTW I share your love of framebacks.

Thanks guys, yeah that was my suspicion but I'm new at this razor game. It wasn't expensive so will make a good project (that might go wrong) razor. We live we learn.
