Howdy all,
So I wanted to ask you guys what your legendary razor is. What is that one go to razor that always seems to get the job done when nothing else can.
Or better yet what is the razor you find yourself reaching for more often?

For me there is actually three razors that stands out.
A Tim Zowada 7/8 Damascus, a Filarmonica EPBD #14 straight point, and a Mastro Livi 7/8.
If I had to pick one of these three, the EPBD wins narrowly.
Wade and butcher 6/8 medium hollow, or 7/8 shoulderless Tuckmar round point. Both are equally smooth but I probably use the W&B more often.
It's my little 9/16 Wostenholm full hollow. I don't have any other steel that can come close to the edge on this guy.

It would be easier to say the ones I avoid rather than the other way around. However I have two vintage 7/8s Dovos that really are exceptional shavers.
I have found my Wade and Butcher's have been faithful and reliable over the years.

My Jernbolaget gets the job done. Always.
Legendary defines my Robert Williams custom with pre ban ivory and damascus blade. Robert forged it based on a drawing I emailed to him. The drawing was based on a Case Bros Springville, NY razor.
JimmyHAD; that is a beautiful razor!!
Man, I really wants me one of those!
Wade & Butcher 7/8 Barbers Rattler....perfect weight, heavy enough that you know it's there but not so heavy that it's bothersome. Not to mention the scales by Glen :tu
Legendary: :)

Zowada and Dubl Duck goldedge. I have two Zowada razors and kinda thinking about another one. Trouble is only one face:gaah:
Currently the one I reach for more than any other is a Bausch & Lomb Microtome that I found that was ground the same on both sides. I have a Holler as well that I like a lot but not as much as the Bausch.
It would have to be one of my Hart Steel Razors I have 2 and they both get the job done. I read some where somebody called it an American Made Whisker Melter and that is just what it is.
Would definitely have to say it's my 7/8 Henckels Friodur!

I just got so damn lucky and bought this one last night, about 10 minutes after it was offered on the Classifieds for sale. I haven't shaved with it or even received it yet, but I think the photos qualify for "legendary" status here.
Wow, Sweet, JeffE. That looks awesome!
I have quite a few original ones but that one knocks mine up in the bleechers!
My Picard ist one of my best Razors because it`s so smooth

Oh my! This is difficult. I seem to have several, including Livi, Zowada, Puma, DD. And they all could be called "legendary".
But, just to shake things up a bit, one that falls into that rare category, for me, is a razor most every one can purchase in the current version. Granted mine is an older model and that might have something to do with it.
But one of the razors I reach for when I absolutely, positivity must have a great shave is...... ..................................... a TI Super Gnome Extra rescaled by Max.

The choice is easy for me... my Fillie 14's. :)
Thanks for the good words. I'm just grateful for a chance to own one, as every one on eBay goes for some crazy price. Why didn't I buy one when they were cheaper?! Sheer stupidity.
And besides the EPBD, I was going to say that my legendary razor is a simple 6/8 TI Le Grelot in imitation MOP scales. My first, and could easily be my only, razor. It can shave the cute off a kitten and keeps a wicked sharp edge practically forever. Other than this new Filly, TIs rule my bathroom.
Currently, I these are the razors I reach for all the time.
5/8 Wade and Butcher 1/4 hollow, oblique point rescaled in white bone.
5/8 Thomas Turner 1/4 hollow, oblique point in original black horn.
Red Imp Wedge by Case.
I also have a Lockwood Brothers 5/8 shoulderless 1/4 hollow, oblique point in horn, a Torry 9/16 1/4 hollow, barbers notch in horn and a 9/16 Joseph Rodgers 1/4 hollow, barbers notch with original black plastic scales but they need sharpening.

I've been spending extra time with one of my vintage Bokers recently.
