Fili 13 and 14 question

I have a Fili 13 Double Temp and i just recieved a 14. Older one. Not DT Both blades are the same size. Why is that? My 13 was a nos the 14 has practicaly no hone wear. Just from initial honing. I thought the 14 were a bit larger. Not that i need a larger blade. Just wondering.

Is the #14 by chance a CS one looks rather plain no stamps on the back of the tang no Jose Monserrat stamp??????????????????

I've got two of the vintage 14s that are 8/8 and one 13 that is just a hair shy or 7/8. These have all the etchings and the embossed scales so they may be an earlier edition. I don't know what the later Fillys measure. They're all good regardless of vintage from what I hear.

Maybe 14 has been honed with tape for a long time until it gets 7/8?

I have one of these too, and was told it's an "especial".
No stamp on scales, 14 and makers name etc on tang, and 7/8 deep. Hone/blade-wear also appears minimal (definitely doesn't look like 1/8" has been removed).
I'm very interested in what others think these are and if the blade-depth of 7/8 and the stamp of "14" on the tang are stock.

Well i do believe its stock. I read that the numbers are measurements in 16ths so the 14 fili 14/16 or 7/8. I also would be surprised if that much was removed. These are deff older tham the others we see. Maybe the newer ones are on a diff scale. Well im hoping!:)

When I was an ironworker in my younger days I got a gold watch as a birthday gift. I foolishly wore the dress watch to work and broke the crystal out of it. I took it to a jeweler wanting to get it repaired but wanted to know if the watch was worth the cost. I asked the watch repairman if it was a "good" watch. "Does it keep good time."he asked ? If it keeps good time, it's a good watch." Moral of the story is if it shaves good it is a good razor. :) With two independently owned examples of a 7/8 # 14 chances are it is as originally manufactured IMO.

I completely agree. I was just looking for clarification since i havent see a 14 before.
