The review here was pretty positive:

With that said, I remember reading some other reviews and opinions elsewhere that there were some issues. I personally love the looks of this razor. It just looks bad a$$ and no nonsense.
I'm not a huge fan of Harts. I've never shaved with one, but I have seen one in person. If I'm going to spend that much on a razor, I want something that looks better. Don't get me wrong, I like a plain, classy razor, but IMO the looks of the Hart are plain but not classy. As for the shave, I dunno, but there is a lot of competition in that price range from others with far more razor making experience.
If I was looking for a special occasion razor I would go for the TI Silverwing limited with the 'French nose' and the ram's horn scales here. I have one and love it. Not too fancy but not plain either. A special occasion razor should be special. OTOH, what might be special for me might not be special for you. :)
If you're looking for a special occasion razors, then you might also want to look at restored vintage; either as an original restore, NOS, or one of SRP's gorgeous custom jobs.
Doesn't have to be new production to be special. :)
On a side note, when I purchase a $250+ dollar razor, I am 100% certain that I will not be saving it for special occasions. I will probably be using it every other day. ;)
If it's to be a new razor, my suggestion is in my signature. I'm delighted with mine, which can be found amongst the other eye candy here.
I have a Hart and a Livi New Grind. They are both quality razors, but I much prefer the Livi. It's a little more expensive at +/- $300, but I would certainly recommend that you give it a look.
Congrats on the positive development at work.:tu
