Generally "wedge" refers to the grind of the blade, and "chopper" is a term used to talk about particularly wide/large razors that usually have stiff grinds.
So they could be both, one, or neither I suppose. I am having a hard time picturing what you're talking about... could you get a picture? This "no tang" thing has got me wondering.
Oh, and I wanted to remind you to turn your caps off.
Pics please!

I think this link will really help you too... it discusses basic terms for razor anatomy, as well as things like what a "wedge" looks like.

I've got a heljestrand 23 and 24, as well as a weltmeister (42 or 24), each of which are nice and wedgey but 5/8, 4/8 and 5/8s respectively. So those are wedges but I'd never call them choppers! I call them mini-wedges.
