The Celebrated
What exactly is "The Celebrated" actually referring to when on a razor? I have several razors that indicate "The celebrated" on the blade. I have two W&B razors, one a huge blade (chopper?) that has "The Celebrated, Barbers use" and another that is half the size that has "he Celebrated" also on the blade. I also have a Torrey with the same "The celebrated" on the blade.
Does anyone know what it refers to other than being a name?

The word "celebrated" infers popularity . In other words , the razor that everyone wanted .

Way back when, certain companies were known for putting folksy sayings in the razors. Torrey and W&B are two who did it all the time. Probably just advertising.

I celebrate whenever I get a new one by doing a little dance; perhaps there was a similar step involved in the manufacturing process.
