Hi,

I've seen Soviet made DE's but that was many years ago. Cannot say anything about their makers or brands. Some were 100% metal and some had celluloid/bakelite/plastic handle. Could have been that those with plastic handles were maybe from 'Tool Germany' aka DDR.
I do not know if there ever was any official import of DE's in Soviet. Those DE's (as well as few other unusual things) belonged to my elder family members who had been at war so those might been 'memorabilia' of a kind.
In general, any stuff that Soviet produced for export was decent, reliable stuff. Things they made for their domestic market was not so 'classy'.
I know Soviet shaving tools.
Every plant and factory in USSR, in addition to its products, made something for the domestic market. So, there were not special brands for DE razors.
But, there were some blades brands, like: "Нева", "Восток" etc.
Manah, any idea if that's the same company that made Boctok (Vostok) watches, or is it just a common word in the language that would have been used for more than one company?
No, they are different companies.
And in Russia, there are different companies with the same name,
but in different cities. :)
