I too have an old razor I think is French. Only markings on it are "Cutrae Langres" -- I think -- and a Crown. It's a frameback with black scales that I think are wood, there's some grain to them, and the blade itself looks like Damascus steel. Any help in identifying it would be greatly appreciated.
No Luck yet on the Ivory but I found this one,sort of faux damascus (is etched),not sure it is french but it sounds like it,on the tang: fontenille #13,Le Mondaine,Depose on the other,scales look like black horn.

Yes, it's faux damascus and native German razor made by Carl Friedrich Ern.
