Simple question. Were Red Imps blued all over when they were made? That's how they look, but before I fire up the blueing solution, I want to make sure. Anybody have a picture of a NOS Red Imp?
thanks

I have seen a very preserved #132, it had bluing on the tang only.
They were not blued on the blade or spines. Some blued razors were blued down the top of the spine and on the front of the toe. The only ones I know of where the whole blade was blued is the DD Lifetime Roosters.
Agreed the tang is the only part that was blued. Are you using gun blue?
133 blued only shank and tang.
I have a 132 that has some bluing on the tang only.
I have a solution made from fertiliser and lye that gives an excellent finish. You have to boil the part in the solution, though. If I want to blue the tang only, I'll have to use Blue Wonder. Not as durable, but it gives a nice deep blue finish.
Thanks for the help everyone. I have one that is very dark. I guess that must be tarnish/corrosion.
