Damascus Razor Question
I am looking for any info on a straight razor I have, It says Damascus Made in Germany on the shank and has Southern Pride and a pattern on the blade. It has a lot of rust but no chips. I have read that most Damascus straight razors are not actual Damascus Steel, but that is about the only thing I know. Also is there a good way to try to restore straight razors that have rusted? I have about 5-6 that need some help but are not in as bad of shape as this one.
Thanks in advance

As you stated, it is not true Damascus steel, that is just a sales pitch. Before we discuss restoration we need to know if whats on the blade is engraved or etched/frosted. If it is not engraved into the metal you may lose it when sanding or buffing. These are great razors with a very solid reputation and something you would truly enjoy.
