Picked up this razor recently. Honed up nicely, shaves nicely, but other than the stamp "Golden Shaver" and a little gold-wash at the pivot, there is no other identifying marks on this razor.
Anyone ever hear of this brand?

Lawson, before I offer my expertise, let me start by saying I enjoy many of your posts.
However, this razor has you stumped simply because you are reading it wrong.
The razor reads: Edited, what it looks like cannot be posted Enjoy the shave...
No, it's definitively "Golden Shaver." There is no question about the "a" and the close-up with enhanced contrast below is clear:
Closest thing I can find to Golden Shaver, but it is an electric shaver and the company was founded in 2003. Sorry for not being much help.
Golden Shaver products, buy Golden Shaver products from alibaba.com
Probably a good idea to include a NSFW flag here
(NSFW = Not Safe For Work, i.e. expect the unexpected)
I'm sorry but I haven't detected the humor yet. I thought I had a pretty raunchy sense of humor, but I'm missing it here. I just wanted some help ID'ing this razor.
I'm sorry if something sounded amiss. It was not my intention.
And I'm still in the dark on this razor in a site loaded with experts on straight razors.
Mod: feel free to delete the whole thread if it's offensive. I still don't get what the joke was.
Some perversions are best kept quit and that was one of them.
Back on Topic: The razor keeps eluding me and now has my interest, much like the one I posted about a month back.
Lawson and SRP members,
I am truly sorry if I offended anybody. It certainly wasn't my intent. I will be more thoughtful in the future.

I have been searching for a little while on and off since yesterday and the closest thing I can find besides the electric razor I posted about earlier is that Golden Shaver is a name of a few Salons and Barbershops.
There is also a mention of a Golden Shaver Men and Women Grooming, They sell hair care products and they might have sold straight razors at some time since straights were used frequently with barbers. The place looks like they have been in business for some time now.
Hope that helps some in your search. Best of luck
Thanks for the info. This razor has honed up really nicely. I can't decide if the razor "feels" more like Sheffield or German steel, if that makes any sense!
I also recently got an American razor, a "King First National" that I'm devoting a little more attention to cleaning up and honing.
Obscure razors are fun!
I agree, obscure razors are interesting. One of my best shavers is $10 "hardware" razor. I'd sure like to know where the steel comes from, USA or Germany would be my guess.
