just wondering what the opinions are on New razors from current companies, that is no NOS or MINT stuff. Just brand spanking new out of the factory like dovos and thiers... can't think of any other brands... pumas, revisors and bokers?

My first straight was a brand new Dovo Special. It's still in my rotation and a great shaver :)
I can only speak on my TI, as it's the only new straight i have, but it is absolutely wonderful to shave with.
+1 on the new Dovos. I own two of them and use them both frequently.
Giesen and Forsthoff Timor are great shavers too and are good value for money.

Discounting the ones on the do not buy list and similar there are only a handful of quality factory made outfits. Dovo and TI are the largest quality producers. There are few others that have or are trying to reestablish themselves like Boker, Puma, henckels, and a few others. They all appear to be making a quality product.
for new , it would have to be a Wacker.
I would say Hart. I've had a number of new razors and I think the Hart round nose is the best.
I have a new TI, wacker, and Revisor. The Revisor is by far my best shaver. The wacker and TI are excellent too.
EDIT: I should mention...the Revisor was done up in Abalone and honed by Max. They may make a difference in the performance.
I think that my Hart Steel is an excellent razor if you would like something in between mass production and custom made at a reasonable price.
However, I have to say that of the current production razors I have tried (Dovo, Wacker, Hart, Boker) I think my little Boker Edelweiss is the best shaver. I have not tried the other current production Bokers, but if they are anything like the Edelweiss, my vote goes to Boker.
Note: I have not shaved with a Thiers razor yet.
I like my Wacker(s), Dovo(s) and TI - all for different reasons.
The Wacker has a great feel/balance and I like the overall quality the best. It is also the sexiest.
The Dovo is simple, but a great shaver that gets the finest hairs cut.
The TI I originally hated. Then I honed it on my own, and rounded the square point at the heel - now I love it for the way it shaves and overall feel/balance.
I have to say my preference is for Wackers but I have not tried a TI yet...
So can anyone say how a Puma compares to those? I am looking for a new razor that compares to my puma since it got stolen... Damn rats. I am leaning towards a dovo special but who knows.
I like my Chandler’s, Williams and Wacker. The new Wacker produced Dorko’s are also very nice along with the vintage Dorko. The Dovo and TI's are also nice. I have honed quite a few but do not own any. Just never got around to getting them. Almmost any razor will give you a good shave provided the hone is up the the test.
I have a new dovo and new revisor, although the dovo is still good, the revisor takes the cake in my experience no questions.
memorael,
The only commercial 'new build' razors I have are Dovo & TI.
I have a C135 full-hollow & a C135 half-hollow 5/8 TIs and the following Dovos - Best, Special, EnVogue x2 (Micarta), Prima Klang & Berg.Lowe.
All the above I have found to be excellent shavers for me :)
Have fun !
Bets regards
Russ
There is no objective way to compare any two razors. They are all different and different people will prefer different razors. As long as you don't buy something that is quality, unhappiness will be personal preference.
To answer the question, if I knew who stole my puma they would definitely have my foot up there ass.
I tried some other razors, a TI and a Dovo and I guess the Dovo is a bit more to my licking, its the bismarck with bone handle... Gawd I miss my Puma... that was my only shaver. O well, I guess I have some razors to try. THANKS GUYS!
Where can I get a new Dorko?
"Where can I get a new Dorko?" Here: Raritten Vorschau look though the list. There might even be a Puma in there someplace.
