Antoni Tadross, probable restoration

I got this beauty (in my eyes) in the mail today. It's an Antoni Tadross with what I believe to be aluminum scales. The scales and the spine work are what really attracted me to this one.

The blade has a very small nick at the end near the toe and some tarnish, very very small amount of rust on this one.

The scales however seem like they're slightly bent and the blade doesn't fit very smoothly into them but I'm in love with the look.

I had planned on trying to restore this one myself but after seeing it in person I'd like to have it done by someone who actually knows what they're doing. The thing is, when I bought it I had no idea there was an etching on the blade as it is very feint. I assume this can't be salvaged when being restored but it would make this even more special if it could be saved.

I just wanted to share! I have very little info on the maker though, just what I've found from previous posts on this forum.

Beautiful Razor you got yourself. It all depends on how far you want to go with a restore..if you want it shiny then that etching will most likely be gone, but if youre ok with the patina look then a light polishing should leave it intact.

What a neat, unique razor! If the etching is almost too faint to see already, I wouldn't have a problem taking it off. If it's marginal, I'd just go for a good cleanup. That's JMO, of course...

Thanks! I love the look and I'm talking to some restore pros about what it may look like if I want to keep the etch but it's hard to describe the condition (wish I had a better camera).

When in-hand it seems a lot less faint than in photos but I can't really judge because I haven't had another blade with etching. It'd be nice to keep but that'd just be a bonus because I bought it not even knowing it was there.

On another note... does anyone have any shaving experience with a Tadross? By the looks of it and the perception of quality I get from it, I hope it'll be a top of the line shaver.

I have the same blade, different scales, it's my travel razor and stays with the travel kit for going outta town. They are an excellent blade, enjoy!
