The Anchor Razor
I would really like to find out as much information about "The Anchor Razor by Maher & Grosh, Toledo" as possible. This was my first vintage and I have fallen in love with this razor. all I have been able to find out so far is, it was made between 1898 and 1950 (maybee) it could have been sold by Montgomery Ward or by mail order. I would like to pen down the facts about this razor a little better than this. any help would be great.

Maher & Grosh
Since Maher & Grosh was a wholesale company c. 1875, and had their own catalog, I doubt that Wards bought razors from them. Wards had their own brand(s). Lakeside and Duro-Edge.

One myth down, I got the Wards info from an ebay sale from 2 years ago, the seller claimed the razor to be in the original box marked with Wards logo.

These are good razors, I have one in my personal rotation of keepers. Mine has a barbers notch.
Goins says:
1875-present
This wholesale company was founded in Toledo, Ohio in 1875. In 1877, Maher & Grosh advertised in the American Agriculturist magazoin and began their mail order business.
Within a few years, they began sending out an illustrated price list of their goods. Maher & Grosh contracted with established firms to manufacture their knives. They moved to Clyde, Ohio about 1963, and they arre still in business.
