I was wondering why I couldn't see the blade etching on the first picture that is clearly visible in the second one...
Maybe they are "before" and "after" pics of a polishing job?

I think so too.Quote:

Yes, I agree, because of the dagger. It looks like the same on this pic.
I was certain about J. Beardshow&Son, untill Manah confused me with this Joseph Allen & Sons. So I need some clarification... Oh, sorry for the pics, it was before and after polishing and I have no idea what it was written before.
BTW Manah greetings from Kiev! and yes the razor in Ukraine now...
So, what do you think guys? It's J. Beardshow & Son or Joseph Allen & Sons?
Joseph Allen & Sons. IMO.
J. Beardshow & Son, Baltic Works, Sheffield have another "dagger":
Many thanks Alex, finally I got the right answer. Oh, yes "dagger" a bit different, I can distinguish them now.
Alex R.
Alex is correct - not Beardshaw at all!

Neil
Just a quick question, what was the poit to remove that etching on the blade?
Have no idea, it wasn't done by me. I suppose the rust.
You're absolutely right, lack of original charisma, but still a nice piece of art from Sheffield :)
