Puma info please
I am completely new to vintage straights. I have used an Artist Club Feather off and on. Long story short I found these two Puma Razors and got both for $50.00,,, plus both with orig. cases.I have no idea about them other than I have heard Puma described as a good/great razor. The pictures don't do justice, but no doubt they need a good restore job. Question being who/where and likely cost? A lot to ask , but I am flying blind on this new hobby. I also saw two Gold Fisch (with fish inlay) in great shape. Are they known to anyone?
Thanks for all the help.

they look to be in good condition, so have them honed and enjoy using them.

Very nice pick up. For $50 you did very well. Get them honed and enjoy them.
And Welcome to SRP.

Nice find. Check out member services in the SRP classifieds here. If those were mine I wouldn't pay a lot to 'restore' them as far as finish goes. They look like good solid shavers but bringing them back to mint condition would cost more than it would be worth to me. YMMV. A bit of Maas or Semichrome on a paper towel and have them honed to shave ready. I haven't heard of the 'fish' razors you mentioned.

FWIW --
If you search the Forums, you'll find a few references to Fisch razors. They seem to be respectable Solingen blades -- which means they're very good shavers.
The two Puma's were a steal, assuming they don't have any hidden flaws.

I have 4 PUMAs and I paid a hefty premium for each one. You made out like a bandit at 2 for $50. Count your blessings and like others are saying, get them honed by reputable members and shave away.

I've seen people pay the equivalent of $50 for two puma cases, assuming you have the hard boxes.
There were many razor manufacturers who have disappeared without a trace. Some of them were very good and failed for reasons nothing to do with the quality of their razors. Gold inlay wasn't cheap so the basic assumption I'd be working on is that the Fisch razors were intended to be quality items.
