From what i have gathered its a thin ground razor that makes more noise when shavign and stropping. and if you take ur tip of ur finger and knda pluck the edge it will make a ringing noise. This is just what ive gather but hopfuly someone can help shed more light on them.
a full hollow ground razor
I believe that historically singing razors are called the extra hollow ground ones. Because of the grind they have a resonance at a higher frequency, I'd say around 1.5kHz.
Yea, they sing. Very extra hollow ground. Anytime you "pluck" it sideways it goes "tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing"
Doesn't happen often though. Hone/Strop/Shave--Nothing about plucking the razor sideways in any of that.
They do shave like a dream though.
Extra Hollow Ground as mentioned above. They make a heck of a racket while shaving, especially if you don't have any water running. My wife started searching the house for a "weird sound" when I honed one up for a gentleman. They do shave wonderfully.
