    Default Favorite Straight Razor

    Gentlemen:

I abandoned the idea of crowning one of my straight razors as a favorite after several weeks of piling up favorite razors. For heaven's sake. I finally told myself to forget it and to take each razor for its individual characteristics and quality.

This plan does not include several razors I don't particularly like, or have liked from the beginning, even though good shavers. Those I will sell eventually. Among the ones I do like, all are my favorites.

    Regards,
    Obie

We were talking last nite at our local KC meet how sometimes you get in a "mood" for a certain razor. Strange, but true.

This will be easier for me than most shavers here.:

F.W.Engels-Solingen. I only have two razors, both are Engels. No RAD...yet!

Both of mine are Sheffields, so my frame of reference is somewhat limited

All my razors are Le Grelots but my favorite out of them is the ivory scaled one!

    I have three.

I think my Genco is my favorite. A Golden Seal I picked up off of e-bay. It was ugly and nasty (see my thread http://straightrazorpalace.com/razor...here-pics.html ) and I got it cleaned up (to a point) and honed (to a point) and shaved with it with some measure of success.

But, I can't discount my C&S or my Engels Leader. They were my G'G'Grandfather's and G'Grandfather's razors respectively. I haven't shaved with them at all yet though.

Right now all three are with Utopian getting honed up. Only a great exertion of willpower prevents me from bugging him constantly about them.
