I would tend to agree. Dubl Ducks are classified as "full hollow" yet are some of the most thinly ground (as in "extra hollow") razors I have. If there is a proper definition I'd be interested to hear it.Quote:

But it still bothers me when I see quarter hollows referred to as "true wedges" or "full wedges." I have made peace with them being called "wedges," though, so there is hope for me yet.

146.00 Euros + 10.00 shipping. This has that designation of 1/1 on it and I see on some others that have a designation of "EXTRA HOLLOW" on the blade that there is that 1/1 that shows up. I have PM / emailed Thomas to see if that is meaning Exra Hollow Ground, but the incidences of where you see this in the description seems like I might be on track. This one is shoulderless, that may also contribute to it's "singing".

I need more money!!!.. BTW, I know in my heart of hearts that this one is so sharp that whiskers just melt off your face and you only need to hone it every leap year, and strop it on a full moon.
Thought it might help - Dovo list their razors as either 1/2 (half hollow/ 1/2 hohl) or 1/1 (Full hollow/ hohl) or 1/1 (extra hollow/ extra hohl (klang)).
It's the type or grind that is listed rather than the degree of hollowness.

Normalstahl, 1/1 hohl. means "normal steel or Carbon Steel and I suppose since they do designate 1/1 it might infer (at Revisor) that it's an extra full hollow blade.

So, if I was looking for my next razor to be an extra full hollow for thinness, flexibility, it would probably boil down to the Dovo Prima Klang "singing" or the Thiers-Issard Extra full hollow "Evide Sonnat Extra" . However, in the description here: Thiers-Issard Straight Razors it just addresses it as a "Full Hollow" and others that have used this blade and Dovo have commented that they felt that the Dovo was a much thinner, "singing" blade. Looks like it might be a speculative assessment then.
The Revisors extras that have the 1/1 nomenclature may be close to something between the TI and Dovo, and maybe just vary ever so much from model to model.
Was there ever any association with the word "Extra" on the blade, like the Revisors?

The craftsmanship looks beautiful in these. One thing the first picture (blue handle) has is file jimps on the top. I don't think Dovo Prima Klang "singing" has them, but the Thiers-Issard Evide Sonnat Extra has them on top and bottom.
Has anyone reading this thread used one of the Revisors that were described as 1/1 hohl. ?
One other thing. I could put my own "jimps" on it I guess. Here is a picture of a Gold Bug I bought recently for 2 for $7.00 along with another razor that was past saving (a Wade & Butcher..many many chunks out of the blade), and I used the scales of the Wade & Butcher to put on the Gold Bug, whose scales were broken. Before I assembled it, I put it in my mini vice and used my Dremmel with fine cut-off wheel to put jimps on both the top and bottom of the razor. Then the Dremmel mini wire brush to smooth them out, and finished with a little emery to make them useful, and non-sharp. Works pretty good, and I DO shave with it.
