Bavu Frameback
I've been hitting the local antique stores lately. I found this Bavu brass frameback for $7.75 The scales where badly warped, so I made a new set and cleaned it up. I'm thinking French made but have no idea. I haven't finished buffing the scales or pinned the blade yet. Just want to make sure everything fit first. I copied the scales that where on it.

Nice! How does she shave?

Looks great, and just like a Jacques LeCoultre. Does it have a screw in the end to hold the blade?
-
Yes, it has a screw in the front. I don't have this one honed yet but I also picked up a Swedish frameback at the same time. The Swedish razor shaves great (Johan Engstrom with an arrow and 1874 on the blade). I ended up picking up 5 nice razors on this road trip.

Lucky guy! Engstroms are great shavers, and framebacks are easy to hone, at least in my experience.

Nice find and good job on it as well. You should move it to the restoration forum! It is surely nice!:D
