New Crown and Sword straight, how'd I do?

Crown and Sword 4720 razor, Labeled 'Extra hollow Ground' and 'Fully Warranted' on the blade, and 'Crown & Sword, Razor Works, Wald Germany' on the shank. On the reverse of the shank its labeled 4720. I find it strange that it has no reference to ERN anywhere on the blade though.

There were ZERO nicks in the blade when I picked it up, unfortunately there was some pinhole pitting on the edge near the toe of the blade, so it took a fair bit of honing to work that out... It took a nice edge though, and I'll be shaving with it in the morning. The scales were labeled as being Bakelite, and the wedge is ivory in color, but has no ivory grain. Any non destructive ways to determine the actual scale material?

I paid $32, a bit more then I usually look to spend on a razor, but I liked it. How'd I do?

Antique dealers call everything that is a plastic--Bakelite because there at one time was a big demand for that material by collectors. Pretty sure it is some type of celluloid or could be hard rubber.

Well, whaddya know... The Simichrome test came back a dingy yellow... Looks like a good chance it actually IS bakelite! Thanks for a link to the tests.

Pics are a bit rough, but looks like a nice razor to leave patina as is and hand rub some maas over those original embossed scales. After easy clean, certain it'll provide years of pride
