Congrats!
I have a Puma #89 and it is a decent shaver!
Good call on getting it properly honed by a pro.
That way you will get the most out of a fine blade such as that.

If you guys are describing these as decent shavers then you should definitely get them professionally honed-my two Pumas are GREAT shavers,
just my 2 cents, but I have one old one and a brand new one and as I said.........
Mine was professionally honed, but somehow that didn't change the size and the grind to make it GREAT in my book;)
Different strokes and all that.
I hope it is the right kind of blade to the OP though. A lot of people praise these blades, and unquestionably for very good reasons:)
great looking razor.
just a quick question; what does the #89 mean? i see that puma's have numbers like this on the blade.
Got no clue. But I can tell you this I just shaved with it about an hour ago it was WOW great
I have the same model but yours is older. It's a superlative shaver. As a matter of fact I used mine today.
One of my favorite razors was a puma. I love the puma cases too.
