Looks like some interesting pieces I'd love to hear any reviews on them. $150 for a 4/8 round point in plastic scales seems a little rough but for $20 more a 6/8, spainish point, with stainless steel blade seems like quite the bargain.

I got mine today. I'll do a formal review but my impression is thus:

overall workmanship is typical for German razors. I didn't find any defects of any kind cosmetically speaking. Razor is normal tight and closes at center until the very last few mm then blade is off to the left but not quite touching the scales. Scales were well pinned and the wood was very nice. I've never seen the scale wedge made from matching wood with the scales-a nice effect. Stainless Steel 6/8s laser etched blade no gold wash. Jimps on top of neck none on bottom. Finish is fine satin on blade. The rest of the razor is high polish not quite mirror.

Shaving-Since the vendor honed the razor I'll assume the maker did not send it out shave ready. The razor gave a very close shave but on the rough side. This will take some dialing in. I would call it provisionally shave ready.

Well, after some work on the blade today and minimal improvement I've come to the realization the bevel will have to be redone.

Sounds like we'll have to wait a bit for the true review, but looking forward to it just the same.

Well, after redoing the bevel and honing her up she shaves much better. I still have some touch up work to do. It's still a tad on the rough side but nothing like it was before. A little more work on the Escher and some CrO and that should do it.

Well, I came to the conclusion the razor is just one of those that has a rough character to it. If ever there was a case of honed to shave and honed to be comfortable this razor was a textbook case. It turned out to be more of a job than I imagined. It really resisted the CrO and didn't like the coticule either. The Escher seemed to do more to refine it's character but it still had a rough undertone to it. In the end I had to drag out the heavy artillery the Shapton 30K and that finally took the roughness away but I had to do more strokes on that hone than I've ever used before. So now I can say the job is done and it's a fine shaver. I don't know how it was when it left the maker and if the roughness came with the razor or if the vendor who honed it had something to do with it or not.

Of course I don't know if my razor was typical of all his stainless models or not but just based on my experience anyone who buys one should expect a not so small job on their hands to get it shave ready unless they like the roughness. I guess I need to modify my review a bit.

yea and just to put things in perspective I had touched up my Puma Stainless the day I got this one and hadn't shaved with it since I started messing with the Aust and though the Aust is fine now when I shaved with the Puma this morning by comparison the difference was very remarkable between the two. That Puma is just one of those razors I consider to be exceptional razors and razors like that have this almost intangible quality to them, hard to describe but when you shave with one you know it.
