If it weren't for the slight wear it could make a good shaving razor.:)
The symbol could be a pipe but it's hard to tell. I'm sure someone will come along who will know.

I'm sorry, but you're wrong.
It's not Wostenholm, and the razor was made in 1810's.
It's George Johnson, 1810-1855, located at 4 Porter St., Sheffield.

For information, there was not such steel before 1740, when Benjamin Huntsman from Sheffield invented cast steel.
But the commercial use of cast steel began from 1772.
The handle was replaced.IMO.
