Default My First Razor Showed Up

Hey there everyone. My first razor showed up in the mail today and I am trying to come up with an approximate date of manufacture. Does anyone have any idea when Wade & Butcher was producing this one.

You have got yourself a Wade and Butcher "You Lather Well". I believe these are circa 1880. I recently restored one that I picked up on eBay. If you are planning on giving it a tidy up stay off the etching. I gave mine a few wipes with some Mothers metal polish and I can hardly make out the etch unless it catches the light just right.

Anyway hope this is of some help.

    Cheers,
    Stu

As it's got England on the tang, it's probably after 1891.

    johnmrson,

Thanks for clearing that up, I was basing my information on an antiques valuing web page.

    Scorgin,

Sorry for the dodgey info, wasn't too far off.

    Cheers,
    Stu

I thought with the England on it that meant after 1891. Good to know I got that much correct. I know I have seen a few of these on the forum and the bay so I thought someone on here might have one and know a lot more about it than I do.

Does anyone know the date range on this razor? We've established after 1890, but what point were they made up till? Thanks!
