I saw that we have some "Tuf Cloth" here and says its good for protecting metal on knives etc. Is it okay to use on a straight razor (SS, gold wash, carbon, inox) and is it okay to use on a chromed safety razor? Tuf cloth is from the Tuf Glide product.
Are you willing to wipe your face with it?
Yes it is perfectly safe. We use it on all of our razors and pocket knives.

The solution evaporates leaving a thin film behind leaving behind a longer lasting protection against rust than oils would as they need to be reapplied more frequently. Another option would be to use Renwax. Everyone has their own comfort levels of what they want to use on their blades. If someone is using the same couple of razors most of the time Camilla or mineral oil works fine, just remember to wipe it off the blade first.Quote:
