Pabst & Kohler "Tramp" help please.

I got this razor from an antique shop for like $10. its a smaller razor like a 4/8 i believe. its a Pabst & Kohler and says columbus, ohio.. then on the other side it says "tramp".. it says made in germay as well. it seems to be in pretty good shape except for the rust spots..=[ the rust spot that worries me is on the bevel on the blade.. opinions? also could anybody give me a any info in this brand and as to why it says "columbus, ohio made in germany?" maybe even around what year its from.. as for the scales the seem to be in good shape as well.. there is a TINY fracture on one of the scales but it still seems to be solid (picture attaches as well) thanks yall!!

Pabst & Kohler was more than likely just the company selling their own branded razors that were actually made Germany by some other manufacturer.

As far as the condition of that blade. I don't want to sound too skeptical but the amount of rust on both sides, especially near the edge might have made this razor too far gone to restore to shave worthiness.

THANKS! we shall see.. luckily it was only $10 so it won't hurt to see how it goes.

+1 I might also add that you are going to want to remove trhat blade from those scales and throw them away. It looks like cell rot is what got the blade.

I agree. Keep those fittings though, pretty things like them may come in handy

Celluloid is sometimes not stable and degrades emitting gases that corrode steel. Mottled scales (like yours) seem prone to it. If you look at the patches of rust on the blade they look to correspond to some of the darker patches on the scales when the razor is shut, hence the suspicion. Do a search on 'cell rot' and there are many threads discussing it, some are very good.
