Carl Halbach razor.
While driving to the bank today I saw this antique store on a road I usually do not drive on and so I stopped in to have a look to see if they had any razors, they had a box full of about 40 razors and decided to buy this one just for fun and it was only $18 and was the pick of the pretty sad bunch.
It was sharp and the blade seem to be not very worn, I gave it a good strop tonight and shaved with this and my other that cost 13 x more to compare and was just as good in the sharpness shaving stakes, but I am only a beginner and it is my 2.5 week straight shaving so can’t make a professional judgment.
As far as a collectible piece I have no idea but for $18 I am not really complaining.

I wish I could get a nice razor like that for $18.
She is really a nice looking piece of kit IMO.
Who cares what a professional thinks, you're the one shaving with it.
In the long run the only questions that you have to answer in the affirmative are;
1 Did I enjoy the shave i.e. did it shave well?
2 Did I cut my own head off?
If you can answer 'yes' to both then you got your $18 worth, I reckon.
Cheers,
Geoff
PS On second thought it looks like a very dangerous razor for you to be using and you need to post it to me straight away.....hehehe

I just ran a German translator over the words “Wasser Turm” that is shown on the scales and it comes up with “Water Tower”. I guess that is why there is an engraving of a tower on the tang, please correct me if I am wrong.

Another razor site on the internet reports that; "Carl Halbach was a maker of edged weapons for the Third Reich his rmz code was
M7/23." I hope this adds to the history of your razor.

Carl Halbach founded the company in 1919, in Solingen. In 1968, located at Ginsterweg St., Solingen.
I couldn't find the late history of the firm.
Carl Halbach used trademark "Wasserturm".
