He obviously knows what he's doing. I would cut my nose and ears off if I shaved this fast and with the guillotine strokes!
The razor says Domenica (Sunday in Italian) on the spine and is a 7 day set. Who makes these?

I've see this video quite a few times, I've just really noticed he's using his RH to shave his left side and LH to shave right side (I do the opposite; R for right, L for left). I might try r for left. I've noticed the spike point on my razor is a bit 'dangerous' around the area just below my ear (on my neck) when I shave across the jawline there; using the opposite hand reverses the razor and means the heel (rounded) comes up against the skin under the ear. Worth a try, anyway!
I noticed that when I watched the video last week. For me I thought how his view in mirror was better and using the dominant hand for stretching looked less like a circus contortionist. could not to it though, as hard as a tried just was not comfortable with angle of blade to my face, not angle of blade to skin but to my face. if that makes senseQuote:

I swear he wouldn't have nostrils if he was using a spike point (after seeing the ATG pass). Great video though, it's always good to see some different techniques

Thank you. I have said this many times in this forum, straight razor shaving for me has taken a mundane chore and turned into an enjoyable ritual for me that I look forward to each morning. I will say this, I am pretty consistent in my shaving because I finish about the same time each morning - I must be doing something right!! ;-)Quote:

BTW -his razor(s) is indeed a Thiers Issard. Scales are classic TI.
We're so lucky to have video. Watching something like this 25-40 yrs ago would have been almost impossible. Great pleasure though observing Chimensch work. Kudos to Chimensch--and to this site.
