I would guess closer to the last quarter of that century, but still quite old! Looks like it is in great shape. ENjoy it.

Read the section here for razors produced in 1830-1840 and let me know what you think. I believe if a razor is marked 'The Celebrated Razor' it's more likely it was manufactured between 1830-1840, but again I could be wrong.

Thanks for the link. I'm not sure the inscription is much to go by though, as I have seen later England stamped razors with similar ones "the original and genuine" etc. I was basing my guess more on the blade style and size (the fact that it advertizes being "hollow" ground, the tang, no smile etc.). I am far from an expert though, as I said it was a guess and I could well be wrong.
Very good for 15 bucks, get her honed up and lets see what she can do.
