Nice! You will have to let us know how she shaves.
it says Razor "October"
On the shank it Says October , then there is the stamp of the first Russian space probe, "Sputnik" and #72
EDIT: misread the stamp, it is Special not October.
Oсобая means "special" according to the online russian dictionary I use. I'm learning the language, (just a beginner, but I can read a little and talk a little). Бритва is razor. And the initials Р.С.Ф.С.Р. are of the Russian Soviet Federated Socialist Republic, from the USSR. Please let us know how it shaves and hones. I would be interested in getting a russian blade eventually for a shaver if it behaves like it looks. It looks great, and congrats on winning the bid. I was bidding on it also. It looks real sturdy and functional. Plus I like the round point. I managed to buy a Geneva Cutlery blade which seems in good shape. Looking forward to using it.
I just got done honing it. I used a Coticule with a light slurry then to water. After that a Ozuku Asagi with slurry for quite some time then diluted it down to just water. Finished on just water.
HHT seems to be right on track to what I look for. I'll give it a go in the morning.
That's right. РТУ-РСФСР 334-39 Number of the manufacturing standard (process) this razor should correspond. Most likely made in 1972.
РСФСР stands for Российская Советская Федеративная Социалистическая Республика or Russian Soviet Federated Socialist Republic. цена 2р.80к. stands for "price 2 roubles 80 kopeks"
Had a very nice and comfortable shave this morning.
