If anyone else has any curiously marked tangs in the vein of one company supplying razors for the use / rebranding by another manufacturer (Filarmonica for CMON for example?), please add them to this thread for future reference.

A very interesting insight into razor manufacturing history.

I have a Wade and Butcher that has a light etching "Blank for Concave" where the stamp would be. The closet I have handy is this thread: http://straightrazorpalace.com/honin...-recently.html where I mention it. If I can remember I'll search for a pic tonight and post it up. I also had a few Workman that had a very light etch where the stamp would be. I am assuming that these were to be stamped by another company. I have some pics of the Workman but I don't recall if I have the etching clearly photographed. I'll check on that one also.

Go to the razor clubs forum and look at the two dubl duck threads. I have a few Puma razors with the dubl duck logo in addition to the puma and the Bresnick name on the tang. Marketing makes strange bedfellows.

WOW this is an old thread (a search brought me here) but guess what. I just bought this cheap. Unfinished and in need of repair but I will finish it :<0)

Pitiful ain't she. Definitely going in my Odd English set :<0)
I'll post some better pics when I get it and clean it up. It's screaming "Make me smile"

Given the profile I am thinking it was a science experiment. Not sure if I can re- regrind it to usable or not.
I couldn't even find a way to measure what's going on here. The spine is looking twisted and the hollow is ground sooo deep on 1 side it looks like a curved microtome. I think these were bad blanks to begin with.
A restore to original would be easy enough and I am beginning to like the tongue depressor scales. Notice the detail on the scale near the tang? Some real whittling skill there.
Wire tired wedge and the little carriage bolt wired on may have to go. Not sure I can save the wire when I take it apart.
Maybe I'll just hone it and put it in my rotation.

Definitely too rare to hide away in a box :<0)
