That's interesting how it formed, but its not a factory etching from what I can see.
Normal pattern of corrosion following structures in the steel.
Nothing crazy but do work on these patches to keep it under control.
This is not a terrible patch so do not wreck the edge of a great shaver
by being AR.
I would wipe and worry the razor with a little bit of MAAS or Happich Simulchrome polish
until the polish turns the patch black. A cotton bud/Q-tip is OK to apply and rub.
Each week.... I would work on these areas with a chopstick and a small patch
of fine 3M wet dry then hone and strop.
This is one cases where a penetrating oil can help. a light sanding with WD-40
and 1000 or 2000 grit 3M wet dry... can help. No need to make this a fix it
all at once project.... At times this type of corrosion can be quite deep so
each time you hone it first worry the surface giving attention to these areas....
over time it will be fine (it is in fact OK now).
I have a small white poly cutting board (bar tender size)
that I lay the razor flat on and then worry the small corrosion
patches. Expect to have to hone the razor after
using 3M paper. For me a fold of bathroom tissue and polish
almost never dulls the edge.
