Thread: My first straighrazor

I read up on this razor a bit from what I could find in the forums here. Was not terribly pricey as I was not willing to spend $200 or so on a razor on my first go round, any info about this blade would be appreciated. thanks in advance.

Whilst I'm not sure I agree with the sellers assertion that passing the HHT assures a perfect shave, it look's like a nice vintage razor.
It dates pre-1890 'cause it says 'Sheffield' not 'Sheffield, England'

Havachat is right, passing HHT doesn't mean it shaves wonderfully. Anyway, it's not expensive and definitely a good starter, the blade is not that wide to incomodate at first. But if you experience razor burns and feel like the blade is not cutting, send it to have it honed. The problem with most Ebay sellers is that they advertise shave-ready edge but you have virtually no knowledge of the seller's honing knowledge. Congrats!
