Long tails
Good morning gents,
From time to time it occurs to me to see some strangely long tail on STR8S. I myself own one Hall's "Queen of Hearts" razor which tail is long enough to keep it with my last two fingers. This one is simply marked "Sheffield made", so I wonder when did they start making such long tails? And when did they stop? Judging from the shape of the blades I saw till now they seem from the first two decades of the last century to me. Does anybody know?
Thanks,
Mauri

I have a 'Waterville' that has a lovely long tail as well.
It shaves nicely too.

My understanding is that the "Monkey Tail" phenomena lasted for around 10 years. I want to say like 1910-1920 or maybe 1920-1930. Not sure on the dates. I still have a beautiful set of W&B's with the longer tails.
Have fun.

I had two Watevilles that had the longer tails, from what I could tell they should have dated in the 1870s or so.

I have a couple razors like that, one a Rogers the other a Williams. He can make one up for you.
