After shaving I dry my razor with TP then strop the blade and give it a dab of oil every time.
OTT IMHO. I just wipe on a towel, strop (10/10) wipe with tissue paper with eucalyptus oil on it and place in three razor pouch (from Executive Shaving) or coffin stored on my desk in my bedroom. I don't have a LOT of razors (a rotation of four straights) so they don't get a lot of time to develop rust between use. I think you DO need to be on top of rust, but not obsessively so...
