I've still got mine. Royal Invicta 6/8.
It looks a little different these days, this is its second rescale.

On a side note I'm also in possesion of the first straight razor I (attempted to) shave with, but it's not the first one I bought. Its my Great Grandfather's Genco, which I found at my Grandparents' house over 15 years ago. I had no idea about straights; I ran it across an unknown stone a few times, lathered up and tried to shave pretty close to 90 degrees (because that's how they always did it in the movies). I didn't cut myself, but it didn't remove any whiskers either. Gave it back to my Grandma and went back to my Sensor Excel for several years. Flash forward to little more than a year ago when I finally asked Grandma for her father's razor, and since she knew I shave with straight razors she had no problem giving it to a good home. I've sinced honed it proper and it's a great shaver and a wonderful heirloom.
Great story Ryan. After I got my first Dovo 6/8 Special, my father gave me all of my great grandfather's razors. One is a Droescher in mint condition that Lynn taught me to restore and hone on. So nice to have old family steel.

No, I gave away the first one I bought - Dovo. In fact, every Dovo I ever owned I have given away (including a Bergischer Lowe...).

But I have all the grandfather razors etc. They don't get out much, but they are there safe and sound.

I had two first's. I purchased both at the same time more than 20 years ago. One was a Clauss, the other a Genco Easy Aces. I learned the hard way that dropping a razor can only be bad news, hence the Clauss died a horrible death when the blade cracked right across the middle. The Easy Aces was sent to Glenn a few years ago, and is in my shave rotation.

Only been at it ten months but I still have my Dovo best quality. Its waiting patiently for me to lap my new Norton combo stone and be the guinea pig for my first real hone job.

Yep still have it and use it, just a plain old wapi, even still has the plain old metal scales. It was a gift from a member here when I was on my first deployment in iraq. probably will never get rid of it. Great shaves from this razor, makes me wonder why none of my other razors have heavier grinds lol.
