    Default Thiers-Issard "Le Dandy"

So, has anyone used this? I have a DOVO 6/8 and I have a no-name 5/8 that I seem to get a better shave from. I'm thinking it may be in part due to the angle and, to me, it's easier to control the angle on the 5/8. Thoughts?

Most TI's are good razors, I have several...as long as they are properly honed. I can't comment specifically on the Le Dandy though. I have heard a few negative comments on some of the newer ones in the past few months, so be sure that your vendor will stand behind their razor as it's tough to get in contact directly with the mfg.

As a new SR shaver, I was going to have it honed, so that shouldn't be a problem.

Jarrod from The Imperial Shave uses one of TI´s current model Le Dandy´s in his rotation.
He rates the shave as being better than a Fili.
Most TI uses are happy with the shaving quality, but the recent models can have some imperfections.
The vintage models are well finished from my experience.

I can agree with this. I have two TI Le Canadien (the 6/8" inclined nose model) which are superb shavers. The one with black horn doesn't appear to have any defects, but the Snakewood has a small blemish in the finish and, while the blade centres perfectly, the scales aren't 100% aligned. The shave and the beauty of the blades more than make up for it.
