I'd probably go for a custom 5/8 french point (a la the Thiers Issard Celebration Silverwing) with top and bottom jimps and a pair of graceful, sleek cocobolo scales.
Alas, it will be a while before I can figure something like that out...sigh.
A nice vintage Sheffield $20 antique store special wrapped in $480 cash. :)
my Case's Ace given to me by my grandfather. I wouldn't give it up for anything; it shaves great and looks just as good as it shaves!
this is a trick question and unanswerable. Shame on you for suggesting such a thing!
For some reason, my Henckels #38. Best overall in the very long run. Going on 7 years, Easy and always right! Of course, I hope I do not ever have to give up the rest!!! They have their merits!!
Tough choice but I think that it would be my Mappin Lancet Edge.
Im not up to doing the math right now but If I could not get a something custom made for $500 a Charlie Lewis fixed blade would do me just fine.
A completely restored Wade & Butcher 7/8 or 8/8. The WB I just got back from Lynn all be it not restored but damn clean and shiny is about as close to perfection as I've gotten so far.
One of my Brian Brown razors. The newest one I believe.
I already have it. It's a chopped 9/8 W&B Celebrated, For Barber's Use, full hollow. It's heavy as hell, and with a bit of practice is quite nimble. The little one in the purpleheart scales is a 4/8.

Got mine - 10/8 Joseph Rodgers 'Dutch Rattler'
Me too! I think it goes very well with the blade....when I told Glen that I was going to send it south to him, he took those blanks out and stashed them away until she arrived. I think they're a perfect match.

@ Hoglahoo
WOW!
Is that a 9/8 shoulderless chopper?
Is the spine work original?
Very impressive :tu:
It would have to be four different ones. one each from Brian Brown, "Maxtom", Charlie Lewis, Kenny Powell... Oh who am I kidding???? Never happen
What a killer blade! Oh man that's awesome.
johnmrson,
I am a great admirer of your razors and shaving equipment..........and your city of residence :D
I am sure Mappin would be incapable of producing a bad razor, but out of curiosity your selection of one razor is out of how many contenders for the crown?
That is some blade. Wow.
I would like to own my Dovo Forestal over most :) I love the shave...or maby a Dovo Bismark
If i hade money to spent i think a nice custum from one of the makers here on SRP.
I can only think of one that my youngest son gave me. A #14 Henckels, 11/16" beautiful ivory scales. Such a smooth shaver!
