New WB acquisition
I don't know if the seller is a SRP member but I liked it so I bought it. This will be going out for a restore. It's a 7/8 and I don't know what year it may be but with the jimping I would figure its late in the companies production. Maybe someone here would know more.

but with the jimping
It means nothing here. According some sources, for example Standard Guide:
Jimps or flutting (40 ribs per inch).
Fluted tang was used since 1820s.
So. The similar Washington razor was dating around 1850s.
Nice razor. Congrats!

Yeah? Cool! The scales are nice with Philadelphia works on one side

I love those scales. I've bid on a few, but haven't yet won any. So anyways, color me jealous....

Looking at the razor in my hand and looking at the patina i wonder now if I should have the blade restored. What do you guys think? The blemishes really dont effect the performance of the blade and after all the razor is 162 years old or there abouts. The scales are perfect with no chips or scratches. While I do love MINT razors this one makes me wonder if shiny new is the way to go.

I would go for the restore, since it looks like the engravings are much deeper than any pitting.
